Teenz is playscheme grown up a little. The oldest division, for ages 12 to 14, gets more independence, later-feeling days and the kind of trips younger children aren't ready for.

How Teenz works

Teenz run in two teams — Red and Blue — with volunteers who treat them like the young adults they nearly are. The programme is built around doing things together rather than being looked after.

Trips and adventures

A typical Teenz week includes:

Manhunt — the legendary wide game
A day at Tawd Vale Scout Camp
Swimming
Roller skating
TenPin bowling

On site

Back on site, Teenz have their own take on the week — including the Teenz Disco — and they join the whole scheme for the Big Show, the Wednesday Carnival and the end-of-scheme party.

What comes next

Teenz is where the next generation of the scheme comes from. Many of our 300 volunteers were Teenz themselves — when your child ages out at 14, volunteering is the way back in.
