OwnerThe Directors

Once your place is booked, your registration fee is allocated to activity fees — so the amount we can refund depends on how much notice you give us.

1. If you cancel

Refunds when you cancel a booked place
When you cancelRefund
More than 28 days before the scheme startsFull refund, minus a £5 administration fee per child
28 to 14 days before the scheme starts50% refund
14 to 7 days before the scheme starts25% refund
Less than 7 days before the scheme startsNo refund

To cancel, email pdm@playscheme.org with your child's name and the booking details. The date we receive your cancellation decides which refund band applies. Refunds are made to the original payment method, normally within 14 days of the cancellation being confirmed.

2. If we cancel

If we cancel the scheme, or have to withdraw a place for reasons other than behaviour, you will receive a full refund of everything you have paid, including the administration fee.

If an individual session has to be cut short or a site closed for reasons beyond our control — for example severe weather or a utilities failure — refunds are not given automatically, but the Directors will consider the circumstances and may offer a partial refund or credit.

3. Non-attendance and illness

No refund is given for days a child simply does not attend. If a child cannot attend for an extended period because of illness or injury, please contact us — with appropriate evidence the Directors may, at their discretion, offer a partial refund or a credit against a future scheme.

4. Behaviour

Where there are issues of unacceptable behaviour, the Directors reserve the right to refuse attendance at the scheme. This is a last resort, used only when all other avenues of support and intervention have failed, and only in the most extreme of cases. We take all issues of bullying, racism, violence and anti-social behaviour very seriously, and will take steps to ensure that the enjoyment and safety of all children attending are not affected by such actions. In these cases we regret that we are unable to offer refunds.

5. Your statutory rights

Because bookings are for date-bound events, there is no statutory 14-day cooling-off period on playscheme bookings. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
