1. Purpose and scope

This policy sets out how Leyland Playscheme protects the children in its care and the responsibilities of everyone involved in running the scheme. It applies to all volunteers, trustees, staff and contractors, at both sites and at all fundraising and off-site activities.

2. Our commitment

The welfare of the child is paramount. We are committed to providing a safe environment in which every child, whatever their age, ability, background or needs, can take part fully and enjoy themselves.

  1. All volunteers are recruited, trained and supervised in line with this policy.
  2. Concerns are recorded and escalated to the Designated Safeguarding Lead the same day.
  3. Children and parents are told clearly who they can speak to and how.
IF A CHILD IS AT IMMEDIATE RISK
